Canadian Public Schools destroying Canada?
Roughly 50% of Canadian children do not meet the EQAO requirements in the Public School system. An almost 100% rate of children meet the requirements in the top private schools across the country. This is not the only alarming statistic as 1 in 3 Public School children are obese.
As you walk around the campus for Upper Canada College, Ridley College, Appleby and more, you'll find that nearly every child is active and fit. This is because such schools prioritize children's physical literacy where as the Public School system shrunk recesses and gym class time to accomodate more academic classes. The irony in this decision to slash gym and increase academic workloads by the Government run Public School's is that the EQAO test scores actually went down and obesity went up.
It's clear that in Ontario, 31.5 billion dollars is not establishing a competitive system to the Non For Profit Private School's in Ontario. 15% of the 14.5 million population in Ontario are minors. This amounts to 2.17 million children attending school in Ontario. This means that per child, $14,250 is invested per year, without excluding private school or homeschooled children.
Therefore, with an average of $14,250 per child, each family in Ontario could enroll their child into a private program, and offer their children a better academic experience and future. Class sizes alone would be between 8 and 16, whereas the Public School system has class sizes of up to 40.
Families who enroll their children into private schools do not get a rebate, and often pay upwards to $40,000 per school year for their child to be given a better education than their tax dollars can provide. These same parents, are often the largest contributors in taxes and recover the fewest ammendaties and services from the government due to the poor quality of the services being offered. In other words, the more money you earn, the more taxes you will pay. The more taxes you people pay, often result in underutilized Public Programming by those who funded the Public Programs.
The beneficiaries of these programs are the folks who often cannot afford to provide a Private Schooling opportunity for their children. This demographic is also more aspetable to obesity and chronic diseases as they get older due to longer work hours, poor diet, addiction and obesity.
Lately, gender identity politics and sexual fetishes have entered the education corriculum in recent years. These have been prioritized above general health, well being and educational standards that are continually plummeting.
In conclusion, it's quite clear that the Public School System is failing people in Ontario and across Canada. The outcome of this collapse will be a larger gap between the upper and middle class. We will also encounter an ethical dilemma in the next decade:
Is Canada a place for the innovative minds and families to grow or will those who thrive without government services willing to continue funding a depreciating soceity? Will families still remain in Canada if the Health Care and Public Services they fund, are depreciating at a catastrophic rate? Ultimately, the next decade will answer this question, as the Canadian Health Card becomes extinct, and with it our values as Canadians.
